HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING MAKEUP?

I started behind the counter at Nordstroms South Coast Plaza in 2001. Freelanced for a bit and jumped between different industries before becoming a full time makeup artist in 2010. I’m glad to say I’ve never looked back

Did you go to school for makeup and hair?

I am completely self taught. I’ve taken classes from other renowned artists. I learn and stay inspired through instagram, youtube and practice.

Do you like doing hair or makeup more?

Depends on the day and the client.

What products do you use?

I use everything under the sun. I have tried and true favorites and then there are the cult faves. Some of the brands in my kit include Kiehl’s, Charlotte Tilbury, NARS, MAC, Marc Jacobs, Armani Beauty, Chanel, Cle de Peau and loads of other products.

DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

I prefer red carpet looks over bridal. I love creating flawless dewy skin, enhanced eyes and flushed cheeks. I prefer just enough to being overdone.

For my personal style, I love chic and effortless. If my style had a place it would be somewhere between LA and Paris.

What is your booking process like?

Once a client decides to book, a contract is sent out and a 50% retainer is collected to hold the date. We circle back to schedule a trial session about 2-4 months before the wedding. Then 2-3 weeks before the big day, a HMU schedule is sent out. Since theHMU schedule is contingent upon the master timeline, I recommend providing us with the updated ready time, time you need to be in the dress, photographer’s arrival, first look and ceremony times.

Do you travel?

We love both destination and local weddings and events. We are always ready to take flight!

Are cancellations allowed?

Cancellations are allowed but there will be no refunding of retainers or any monies collected.

What’s your favorite mascara?

Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Mascara. Hands down.

What’s your favorite lip color?

Right now, Heat Wave by NARS. It’s a lovely orange-y red.

Still in search of the perfect coral fuchsia lip color.

If you have one superpower what would it be?

It’s a toss up between freezing time and teleporting.

What would you do if you won the lotto?

Fly business for every international and cross country flights. Probably stay in nice hotels too. Not on points.

And, build a modern little house in the woods and on the beach, preferably in the outskirts of Seoul and near the crystal clear waters of Thailand.

Your skin always looks great on IG. What is your secret?

Honey, it’s the filter. Go download the Snow App and play with the makeup filter.

Are trial sessions necessary?

If you 100% truly trust my work then I don’t think it’s necessary. However, for most of you who are a smidge concerned with how you will look on the wedding day, I absolutely recommend it. The trial session is a good time for me to see your skin and how it takes to makeup, play with the hair and see how it cooperates and make recommendations in ordered to achieve your desired look.

Can I test different looks during the trial?

Each trial session is allotted 3 hours. This is just enough time for a consult and to test 1 hair and makeup look with slight changes.I always say I can’t give you what you want unless you know what that is. In order to do my job effectively and to deliver something my clients love, I recommend knowing exactly what you want. If still unsure, gather inspirations from the dress, jewelry, venue, flowers, colors of the wedding, peruse through Instagram, magazines and Pinterest. Take note of the looks your are drawn to and it’s just as helpful to tell me what you don’t like.

How much time do you take on a bride and party?

On the wedding day, I allot 2.5 hours for my brides and 45 mins for each additional service.

Will you be able to service a large party?

I am able to accommodate a large party with enough notice. It’s best to confirm the services at the time of booking rather than closer to the date.
